Dr. Fishel is now offering emPower! lenses, the world’s first electronic focusing eyewear. Developed by PixelOptics, emPower! are lenses, which are electronic and auto-focusing. EmPower! allows control of near focus, intermediate focus and distance focus, all within the frame of the glasses.

How do these remarkable lenses work? By crystals. To magnify the reading power in the new glasses, simply touch the side of the frame. Small batteries are located within the frame send along a current that changes the orientation of molecules in the crystals, and voila – electronic focusing!

The emPower! frames are self-powered through the built-in electronic components. With three different modes: automatic, manual “on” and manual “off”, the near zones can be manually turned “on” or “off”, or set to turn “on” and “off” automatically. Switching from “on” to “off” is as simple as a swipe of the finger across the side of the frame.

The emPower! glasses are available in most prescriptions and  including; UV, scratch-resistant, hydrophobic and anti-reflection coatings. Other benefits of the electronic lenses are: wider fields of clear vision, less distortion and swim, near zone deactivation to see distance and intermediate distances more clearly and a higher level of vision comfort.
